19 July 2011 - Nashville, Tenn - Esterlyn, the unique four-piece worship band hailing from Boise, Idaho, has always had one mission - to use their music as a straightforward message to touch lives and to provide encouragement for the hearts of God's people. With their current VSR Music Group/EMI Music Distribution project titled Call Out, which released last summer, they are doing just that.
Esterlyn recently took time off from touring to spend an entire month in The Netherlands to share their faith on the streets primarily in Amsterdam's Red Light District. During their time there, the band shared their faith on the streets while playing music and giving away bibles and hundreds of CD's, all in hopes of the bringing the message of their faith to the people in the area.
During their stay, Esterlyn's Luke Caldwell shared this post on the band's website, "It has definitely been stretching my comfort zone to just set up in the piazzas and start singing. We have been amazed to be able to share and pray with prostitutes and even give them bibles. It amazes me that we as Christians have the answers to the fulfillment so many people are searching for...we pray God continues to gives us boldness as we go out each day and night seeking to serve and save those who are lost in their sin. God really offers us freedom." Now that they are back in the U.S., based from the experience of this the band is on fire more than ever to minister to those who are hurting.
While back in the states, Esterlyn is getting some serious radio airplay. The band's version of the Hillsong United song "Freedom is Here" is currently hitting the CHR airwaves, with 13 weeks of charting and is also spinning on Air1. The single is releasing to AC markets this week. You can watch the powerful "Freedom is Here" music video here.
Never a band to sit still, while Esterlyn prepares for another mission trip in September to Mexico, they are currently on tour and throughout the fall. For the most updated tour dates, visit their website's tour page.
